This Italia Imola started its life in a sonic blue color. I did not like this color and stripped the body down to the raw Korina/Limba wood. Which was even uglier than the baby blue. Then I met Tom Richter from Berlin (aka Edelkind), and he is an expert in surface design. He covered the body with over lapping sheets of goldleaf. After every layer he put clear laquer on it incl. sanding. This happened not less than four times. On the final lacquer layers he put a special wax. The pickguard got a mixture of gold and silver leafs, the latter partially  sanded down to the gold leafs. This Edelkind treatment makes something special, something unique to this otherwise more or less crazy guitar. Like all Twangtone guitars, this one sounds gorgeous, too ...
